Revolut, the British fintech company offering a prepaid card and an app that allows users to exchange currencies at interbank rates, has announced that it had a 35 percent increase in the number of new customers in Poland in the first months of summer. The company said that in June and July the number of app downloads and new account registrations exceeded 50 thousand and was over 30 percent higher than in April and May.
A press release from Revolut stated that it currently has over 150 thousand customers in Poland. My sources tell me that last week the number of individual customers reached nearly 170 thousand. April and May brought Revolut around 35 thousand new app users in Poland.
Revolut has over 2 million customers in Europe and has performed 100 million transactions amounting to 16 billion dollars. The company has recently revealed that it is now licensed to operate in Singapore and will soon expand its services to Asia. The British fintech is also on its way to the USA, just like its German competitor N26. The Berlin-based mobile bank wants to make its overseas debut in the first quarter of 2019.
