The offer is currently available to owners of paid Premium and Metal plan
Revolut announced that from now on the Junior service can be used by its customers in Poland. However, not everyone. For now, it is offered only to people with paid Premium and Metal accounts. The former can activate the Junior application for two of their pupils. If someone pays for the Metal plan, they can start the service for five children. Revolut Junior accounts can only be created by a parent or legal guardian who is already a Revolut customer.
The Revolut Junior application has been designed in such a way that the child can easily check the status of the account associated with it and receive notifications of transactions carried out. In turn, parents in their application control the expenses of the mentee. They also receive notifications of all transactions. They can change security settings and control the functions of an additional card, e.g. online payment. They can also quickly top-up the sub-account associated with the child's application.
Revolut plans to expand the new service, including for a revolving spending limit, cyclical account top-ups, saving function, expense reports and financial advice for children educating habits of responsible money handling. Each of the functions is to promote the consolidation of knowledge about everyday finances.
It is worth adding that accounts with the card also under the name Junior for children under 13 years of age are currently run by two banks in Poland, PKO and mBank. In the case of their offer, the account owner is also a parent or legal guardian who controls expenses and sets a daily transaction limit.
