"We already started to establish partnerships with global payment service providers two years ago. The acquisition of the Slovakian company Viamo is another important stage in our history, which will strengthen our position in the region. We see huge potential in this market, especially in the context of our plans to operate in the entire eurozone," says Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, president of Polski Standard Płatności.

Viamo has been operating on the Slovak market since 2013. The company provides P2P payment services (transfers between users) and payments for business based on QR codes and payment links. It is also a provider of a payment gateway - Viamo PayGate. It currently works closely with 2 banks - VÚB and Tatra banka. However, its services via the Viamo Plus mobile application can be used by customers of all banks in Slovakia. The app has approximately 300,000 users.

And as for Blik's overseas plans, the company is working on making its services available in Romania. The first of the banks there may implement Blik payments later this year.
