PKO BP is running final tests of its contactlessBlik. The function is to be launched in the bank in the next few weeks
As you might have found out from the previous texts on cashless.pl, final works connected with making the contactlessBlik service available to customers are being carried out. Firstly, the service will be available in the offer of Blik's founding banks, including PKO BP. As you can see in the video below, activating the Blik contactless function takes a few dozen seconds. The operation is similar to adding a card to mobile payments such as Apple Pay or Google Pay. Except that, of course, there is no need to have a card either in plastic or virtual form.
Paying with contactless Blik, on the other hand, looks almost the same as with Apple Pay or Google Pay wallets. All you have to do is put your smartphone to the payment terminal in the shop.
As I mentioned earlier, several banks are completing implementation work related to contactless Blik. Among them is PKO BP, which should implement the service in production within the next few weeks. Among the first institutions offering contactless Blik there will probably be ING, which has already introduced appropriate changes to its regulations and price list. So has mBank. However it looks like Millennium will be the first to introduce the service to its offer.
Blik has gained the opportunity to introduce a contactless function thanks to cooperation with Mastercard. Let me remind you that the American organisation became the seventh shareholder of the Blik operator last year. Ultimately, Blik contactless payments will also be available to users of smartphones with iOS system. Initially, however, the service will be available only to owners of smartphones with Android system.
