The rebranding of Aion Bank to UniCredit is scheduled to take place this coming Monday
According to information sent to customers by Aion Bank, this brand will cease operations in the Polish market on Monday, 6 October 2025. The Italian one, UniCredit, will replace it. The address of the institution's official website will also change to unicredit.pl, and its colour scheme will change to that characteristic of the Italian bank. The current Aion Bank website will redirect to the new site. The cards will also get a new look, although those in customers' wallets will remain valid and will not be replaced before their expected expiry date.

It has been known for a long time that UniCredit is preparing to return to the Polish market. In May 2025, the institution finalised the acquisition of control over Aion Bank and its affiliated company Vodeno. A few months ago, cashless.pl reported that the bank had begun recruiting for its regional branches, which means that it will also launch a network of brick-and-mortar outlets. An interesting fact that may also be of interest to journalists writing about banking is that the bank has hired a new media relations officer, Sabina Salamon, who was previously the spokesperson for Deutsche Bank in Poland.
UniCredit was previously present on the Polish retail banking market, having been a strategic investor in Pekao. It sold its shares in 2019.
