ING Bank Slaski has introduced payments on Android Auto

In the next few months, ING also wants to enable the purchase of parking tickets via Apple Car Play

Users of the Moje ING app can buy a parking ticket with the help of the Android Auto app. The institution stresses that it is the first bank in Poland to introduce such a solution. To use it, you need to connect your Android smartphone to the display in your car.

Android Auto is a tool that allows programmes from other devices - such as a smartphone or tablet - to be transferred to the vehicle's on-board computer screen. This includes not only communication, but also satellite navigation, music streaming and payments. The idea is to eliminate the need to reach for the phone while driving and thus increase road safety.

ING explains in a release that once the two apps are paired, a Moje ING icon will appear on the car screen. If the user clicks on it, they will see the zones they are near and for which they can buy a ticket. The purchase process itself looks similar to the one in the bank's app: the driver selects the parking zone, the type of parking, the registration number and the account from which he or she will pay.

The bank points out that once parking has started, the user may be asked for authorisation. It should be borne in mind that the purchase of a ticket with the help of Android Auto requires, among other things, geolocation consent. The institution has also announced that it plans to introduce a parking ticket purchase function via Apple Car Play in the coming months.
