Changes to PKO BP’s bond services. From now on, you can buy securities directly via IKO or iPKO

However, if you are using IKO, you will no longer be redirected to the obligacjeskarbowe.pl website

PKO BP has just introduced significant changes to the process of purchasing government bonds. From now on, you no longer need to visit the obligacjeskarbowe.pl website to buy new bonds. The entire process can be started and completed on the iPKO website or via the IKO mobile app. The bond website itself will remain in its current form, although there are plans to modernize it. However, it is not yet known when this will happen.

This new feature introduced by PKO represents a major change, as the obligacjeskarbowe.pl website has long been rather outdated. Developed many years ago, it is not adapted to today’s technologies; for example, it does not adjust to different screen sizes, making it very inconvenient to use on mobile devices. The option to purchase securities via IKO or iPKO, therefore, allows the bank’s customers to invest in bonds using modern tools.

According to information from cashless.pl, PKO BP intends to expand its bond services. The bank’s press office has announced that it plans to launch a full after-sales service in the near future (including bond redemption – currently available only on the obligacjeskarbowe.pl website) and to introduce the purchase of government bonds for new customers as part of the iPKO/IKO service without the need for an account. The launch of the latter service is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.

However, if you already hold Treasury bonds purchased through PKO BP and would like to access your register, you may find your blood pressure rising. It turns out the route to accessing the register has changed, but the bank is not informing its customers. Until now, all you had to do was log in to iPKO (this also worked on a mobile phone) and select the ‘Offer’ and ‘Treasury Bonds’ tabs to access your registry account. Today, if you follow this route, you’ll only see a message about the option to buy bonds, as if you were about to buy your very first bond. If, in this age of high-profile cyberattacks, you then find yourself thinking that someone has just emptied your bond account, you won’t be the first.

Fortunately, your bonds are most likely still in your account, and you can access it via the ‘Your finances’ tab. As I mentioned above, full account management is only available via the obligacjeskarbowe.pl website. Unfortunately, you can only access it via the iPKO service and only on a computer. Any attempt to log in via IKO displays a message stating that you must log in on a desktop device.

UPDATE

Shortly after the text was published, a message appeared in the IKO app, displayed when attempting to access the bonds service via the ‘Offer’ tab. The message states that if a customer already holds bonds, they can view their account balance in the ‘My Products’ tab.
