It is about the In-App calls function, which is available for individual customers but will soon also include customers using Revolut Business
Revolut has introduced In-App calls in Poland to prevent phone scammers from impersonating Revolut employees. From now on, if Revolut's help desk tries to contact a customer by phone, a call will be initiated from inside the Revolut app. The banking fintech adds that it may occasionally be a traditional phone call. For now, the solution can be used by individual customers, but it will soon extend to services for businesses (Revolut Business).

Revolut acknowledges that its customers are victims of fraudsters impersonating employees to defraud them. It adds that the scale of the problem is the lowest it has seen in two years, but the emotional and financial impact of the fraud in each case is very severe. Revolut has, therefore, decided to develop and test a solution that fraudsters will not be able to imitate.
"If a customer receives a simple unscheduled phone call from someone claiming to be Revolut, it is best to put the phone down and check within the app that the caller is who they say they are. As quoted in the press release, " receiving a call from inside the Revolut app ensures that you are talking to a consultant and not a fraudster, " says Woody Malouf, Head of Financial Crime at Revolut, as quoted in the press app.

Banks are also combating the scourge of telephone fraud by being able to verify the caller in the mobile app. VeloBank introduced such a function in November 2024, and Bank Pocztowy in August. Previously, mBank, PKO BP, BNP Paribas, Pekao, Santander, Credit Agricole, Nest and ING customers could already use such a facility.
