Żabka's press office confirmed that work on the new solution is well advanced, although no specific launch date has been set yet
According to unofficial information from cashless.pl, Żabka is developing a new version of the Żappka Pay service. It is to be a credit card for customers of this chain of shops, but not only for them. Other institutions are also involved in the project, including PKO BP as the financing provider and Visa, whose logo will appear on the new card, which will likely be issued exclusively in a mobile application.
Żabka's press office has partly confirmed this information. "We are working on a completely new version of the Żappka Pay service. The offer will take full advantage of, among other things, Żabka's multidimensional ecosystem, enabling us to better meet the needs and expectations of our customers. We will provide more details about the service closer to the implementation date", they wrote in response to my email asking about the Żabka credit card.

At the same time, the chain's press office evaluated the Żappo project. "The results of the Żappo tests showed that our customers were interested in the deferred payment service. However, this project is still in the pilot stage, and we are not currently planning to scale it up", writes Żabka's press office.
Let me remind you that the Żappo function appeared in the Żabka mobile application in August 2025. It enabled deferred payment purchases in a brick-and-mortar store. It was a one-time voucher worth PLN 50. It was available to selected adult Żappka app users for testing purposes and could be used to purchase products available in brick-and-mortar stores. However, not all products were eligible, as they could not be used to purchase cigarettes, alcohol, or other items unavailable to customers under 18.
However, in September 2025, cashless.pl found a reservation of the name Żappka Pay for a new company in the Patent Office Bulletin. At that time, the retail chain's press office stated that this was related to work on a new version of the Żappka Pay service.

Let me remind you that Żappka Pay is a feature of the Żappka mobile app, which was made available to customers in mid-2020. After adding a bank card to the app, you can pay for purchases in Żabka stores without the card. All you had to do was show the staff the code displayed in the app on your smartphone, then confirm the transaction with a PIN or biometric authentication (facial or fingerprint). In May 2024, however, the owner of Żabka stores announced that the service would be discontinued within a month. "After careful analysis, we have decided to temporarily disable or thoroughly rebuild some of the app's modules", they wrote in response to questions from cashless.pl at the time. It seems that the temporary shutdown period is coming to an end.
Meanwhile, you could first read about the credit product Żabka is working on at cashless.pl in autumn 2024. At that time, the chain's press office confirmed that the project was under analysis. Our unofficial information indicated that it would be a credit card managed in a mobile application, with a limit of up to PLN 1,000 and usable not only in Żabka stores. However, at the beginning of July 2025, it turned out that PKO BP may be involved in the project, providing financing for the card's credit limits, which will carry the Visa logo. The press offices of both institutions did not confirm their cooperation in this regard at the time. However, they did not deny the information published by cashless.pl.
