Quicko is a Polish competition for Fitbit Pay

The new Quicko service is expected to appear on the market in Q1 next year

Quicko is a Polish fintech known so far mainly for providing contactless payment gadgets. Now the company is opening a new chapter in its history. It wants to enter the market with a completely new service, which is allowed by its entry in the register of small payment institutions kept by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) and the card issuer license obtained in the Mastercard organization.

According to the declaration of Sebastian Swoboda, who has been the new president of the company since September 1 this year, customers will be able to install the new Quicko application on their smartphones from the first quarter of 2021. The application will be associated with a card that can be a virtual or traditional plastic . Additionally, it will be possible to connect with the application a fitness band, sold under the Quicko brand and equipped with mobile contactless payments. All these elements of the new Polish fintech offer are to be available to users of devices with both Android and iOS systems.

To whom Quicko address its new offer? - We want our services to interest young, physically active individual customers who are looking for a fitness band cheaper than solutions available on the market, and at the same time equipped with mobile payments - Sebastian Swoboda tells the cashless.pl website. He adds that Quicko will also offer payment accounts for small and medium-sized companies looking for an alternative to banking services available on the market.

According to the words of the president of Quicko, an element of the fintech offer will also include P2P payments. In the future, the company also wants to offer solutions enabling the execution of international transfers and cheap foreign payments. The development of the offer is to be possible thanks to the license of the national payment institution, for which the company applies from the KNF. As I mentioned, the debut of the new Quicko is planned for the first quarter of 2021. Then the detailed price conditions of the offer will also be known.
